Hi,
I tracked down your Mystery Ship via the book: Pan Am an Airline and It's Aircraft by R.E.G. Davies. I also found a copy of an old Postcard with a tail number and etched title as Trinida Clipper. Here's the Vital Stats:
PAA Trinidad Clipper
NC15373   S-42A
S/N 4203
Also Named "Jamaica Clipper"  
Used in Latin America
Scrapped July 15, 1946
